Why become a vegetarian or vegan? Because it is giving up a nasty diet of dead animals, of course! Not only that, but it is also showing that you care about animals. Vegetarian and vegan food is actually very tasty. I admit, in a first week of being a vegetarian myself, I didn't like the food, but only because I wasn't used to it. After about a week, I was absolutely loving the stuff! I even sometimes thought my mum had given me meat to eat instead of quorn (a meat substitute). Becoming a vegetarian or vegan is a good idea because:
It shows the public that you care about animals.
If you are overweight, becoming veggie or vegan can help you lose weight because meat contains more fat than meat substitutes.
It shows that you are not turning a blind eye to how the animals are killed in the abattoir.
If you are worried about 'lack of nutrients' in vegetarian food that are common in meat such as iron, protein and vitamin b12, these can all either be taken daily in tablets (especially by vegans) but protein and iron are found in many foods that do not come from a slaughtered animal!
