CIRCUSES

Circuses

Why are circuses cruel?
Circuses that use animals are very cruel. They abuse the animals to make them do seemingly impossible tricks by whipping them, taunting them, beating them etc. The tormenters then apologise to the animals for abusing them by giving them a luxury home in a tiny cage with hardly any room to move. Sometimes the animals have to live a few weeks without food. What a lovely way for an animal to live! I don't think.

Facts
In their natural habitat, tigers do not jump through hoops of fire, bears do not balance on balls and elephants do not stand on their back legs.

Circus animals are often dangerous animals: eg. tigers. Circuses that use such animals are putting children at risk. Who knows if they may suddenly rebel during a show and attack an audience member? It has happened!

Circus animals are forced to do the things they would do freely in the wild such as eat, drink and urinate, in a cramped cage.

Children, who like animals naturally, would have to be dragged to the circus against their own will if they understood that the animals they view are hating doing what they are shocked, beaten and whipped to be made to do.
